WoW Mage Guide - Doing Magic with the Mage

Image of WoW Mage GuideWorld of Warcraft is definitely one of the most magical video game out in the market today. That being said, what kind of a “magical” world would it be without having a class centered on “magic”? Enter the WoW mage – the only WoW class that’s all about magic, and this aspect of their game would be this WoW Mage guide’s focus.

Being creatures built for magic, mages have the affinity for the Fire and Frost elements along with direct control of the Arcane. This makes them badass hurlers of fireballs of molten flame and master of conjuring food and water out of thin air. With these kind of abilities they’re usually at the background of the battle, staying on a safe distance from the main battlefield as they cast offensive spells (lightning bolts, fireballs) and magical support (healing, buffs).

If you’re interested in trying out the Mage class, it’s wise to check out the class’ strong and weak suits itemized in this WoW Mage guide. Have a look:

• As weavers of magic, mages use spells to inflict the majority of their damage from a distance. They can do all kinds of offensive spells, from individual attacks to inflicting damage on multiple targets.
• Mages can also do some arcanic magic and use this to turn their enemies into animals. Along with this arcane abilities are fiery inferno summons mainly for engulfing their enemies, or frosty shackles spells used to lock the opposition into one place. While some mages choose to specialize in one form of magical destruction, in this WoW Mage guide we urge you to utilize all three types of mage’s magical abilities to lock down and obliterate your enemy.
• The main mage weakness is their dependence on mana. While the class’ magical damage is powerful, they are completely reliant on their mana for damage. Being made for long-range attacks their melee damage is of course pathetic. This facet of their game makes them vulnerable to close range attacks especially when they ran out of mana.
• Again, with their affinity for long-range attacks, mages are considered to be very frail. They’re made purely for offense (as shown by their high-damage rate) and lack the defense to last long battles. Again because of this, they’re better suited as a support class- they are more effective when placed at the back of the formation and tasked only to lob magical spells at their enemies.
• To balance their poor defense and melee attacks though, mages are masters of escaping. Being equipped with various snares, roots, and ability to incapacitate the enemy they can easily get out of tricky and testy situations. In addition to these traits, they can also easily kite their enemies around which gives them extra time to deal with them before they break through their defense.
• Finally and probably their best asset, mages can summon their own food and water which make leveling much easier. This is the main reason why the mage class is a popular pick among beginners and why more and more WoW Mage guides are being created for it

In summation, the Mage class is the lord of long-ranged offense. They’re best use is as support in the sidelines or at the background of the battle. With their ability to rain fireballs and lightning bolts at the enemy, it’s easy to see why no raiding team (or even soloists for that matter) would go to a battle without them.
